Working With 1st Transnational Translations

We operate an in-house team of qualified, graduate translators from the UK and Europe, meaning we can answer the phone in French, German, Italian or Spanish – as well as in impeccable English! You won’t be met with voicemail here.

To get a quote we will ask a few simple details then provide you with an instant quotation over the phone or send a written quotation via email if preferred.

All translations are confidentially managed by the Project Manager you initially spoke to who will appoint best-fit translators from our selection of more than 5,000 qualified, assessed, specialist mother-tongue professionals – many of whom work in their native country.

It’s our vast selection of qualified translators who are experienced in your field that enables us to provide you with the most precise language style for your translated text, with industry specific terminology and expression, which communicates fluently between yourself and fellow professionals.

If you have a larger job, such as a legal case or website translation, we will provide you with a project management team with a team leader who will give you regular progress reports.

Our Directors approve all translations, but other specialist translators can also review and proof translations for publication. Clients specifying translations to BS EN 15038 will always receive this “review” process. 1st Transnational was a member of the UK Working Group, which helped to draft BS EN 15038.

Technical Details

Most texts and translations travel by email, and we use Microsoft Office 2013 for PC as our standard software package but we also have Macs and offer publishing programs.

Adobe InDesign CS5 is used in-house and through our international network we can set high word-count, foreign language texts in most formats and all languages. Our high-speed FTP site facilitates large file, short timescale transmission.

We also run Trados Studio in-house, which is a translation memory software designed to ensure consistent terminology. By identifying highly repetitive texts, it can also support discounting.

Our favourite project for Typesetting & DTP was a global, 27 language training course in InDesign for a global courier company.
